American iron and Metal was founded in 1936 by a man named "Peter Black ". Today, this company is run by his son "Herbert Black" who is describe in Wikipedia as a philanthropist.

AIM has expended their business all over the world, having branch in many cities and having expand their activity in many area.

Being myself in Montreal, I see their trucks, containers and many of their services daily.

It is unknown when they started to own their own railroad cars. I remember staring seeing them around 2009-2010. My old "Official Railway Equipment Register of 2007" has no records of this company, which mean they started to own these cars later.

No information can be found on the net about the size of their fleet. At the day of writing these lines, from my own collection of pictures; I believe that their fleet is about 300 cars.

The "X" in their reporting marks mean that they do not own a railroad.

J'ignore depuis quand AIM possède ses propres wagons. Je me rappelle de les avoir vus depuis environ 2009-2010. Mon vieux "Official Railway Equipment Register of 2007" n'a aucune trace de cette compagnie, ce qui veux dire que cette compagnie a commencé à avoir leurs propre wagons plus tard.

Aucune information sur le net n'indique la quantité de wagons qu'ils possèdent. À la date de l'écriture de ces lignes et aussi en utilisant ma propre collection de photos; j'estime la dimension de leurs flotte de wagons à environ 300 unités.

Le " X " à la fin de leurs "identification " indique qu'ils ne sont pas propriétaire d'un réseau de chemin de fer.
