Copper Bassin Railway

A railroad line between Magma and Winkelma in Kansas was built between 1902 and 1904 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) and Eastern Railroad. The railroad was leased to the Santa Fe railroad upon completion of construction.
Like many of its kind, the railroad went through many changes in ownership in 1945, in 1955 where it was merge with the Southern Pacific in 1961 and in 1986 the Copper Bassin Railway was born and manage by Rail Management Corporation until 2006 where ASARCO Copper Corporation purchased the entire railroad. ASARCO also owns the Ray Mine and Hayden Smelter, CBRY's primary customers.
The Copper Bassin Railway owns a little more than 61 miles of tracks and own a fleet of about 30 locomotives and according to my old Railway equipment register of 2007, about 350 cars (probably more today) .
Une ligne de chemin de fer a été bâtie entre Magma et Winkelma dans l'état du Kensas entre 1902 et 1904 par les "Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) and Eastern Railroad ". Ce chemin de fer a , alors, été louer au chemin de fer Santa Fe à la fin de sa construction.
Comme beaucoup de chemin de fer du même type, la propriété de cette compagnie de chemin de fer a passée par plusieurs mains avant d'être fusionner avec la Southern Pacific en 1961 et en 1986, la Copper Bassin Railway est née et est gérer par Rail Management Corporation jusqu'en 2006 ou elle est achetée entièrement par " ASARCO " qui est aussi le propriétaire de Ray Mine and Hayden Smelter, son principal client.
La Copper Bassin Railway possède environ 98 km de voies ferrées, une trentaine de locomotives et selon mon vieux Railway equipment register de 2007, environ 350 wagons. (probablement plus aujourd'hui)
