Created in 1901 under the name "Duluth, Virginia and Rainy Lake Railway" (DWP), construction was started on a line between Virginia, Minnesota, crossing in Canada at Rainy Lake and ending in Winnipeg where it is connected to the mainline of the Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR). The CNoR purchase the line in 1908.

When the CNoR went bankrupt, the Canadian government created the Canadian national Railway when it nationalized the some of the railroads in Canada,

In 2011, the "Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific Railway" (DWC) was merge with the Wisconsin Central who had been nationalized too at the same time of the WC.

The DWC own about 167 miles of tracks (not clear here in my informations) and own about 2000 railroads cars according to my old "Official Railway Equipment Register of 2007" (I think they own a lot more than that now…)

The DWC is now part of the Canadian National.

Créer en 1901 sous le nom de "Duluth, Virginia and Rainy Lake Railway" (DWP), la construction d'une ligne de voie ferrée entre Virginia, Minnesota et traversant la frontière au Canada à Rainy Lake et se terminant à Winnipeg ou cette ligne allait rejoindre la ligne principale du the Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) qui finalement a acheté la compagnie en 1908.

Quand le CNoR a fait faillite, le gouvernement Canadien a créé le Canadian National Railway et a nationalisé certaines des compagnies de chemin de fer Canadienne.

En 2011, le "Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific Railway" (DWC)a été fusionné avec le Wisconsin Central qui elle-même avait été nationalisé au même moment que le WC.

Le DWC possède environ 269 km de voies (ici, les informations sont confises….) et possède une flotte d'environ 2000 wagons selon mon vieux "Official Railway Equipment Register of 2007 (mais je crois que c'est beaucoup plus maintenant!)

Maintenant, le DWC fait partie du Canadien National.
