Central Main & Quebec Railway (Used to be / Anciennement Montreal Maine & Atlantic Railway )

In the late 1990's, CP decide to abandoned some of their line because they feel these lines not being profitable anymore. These lines from St-Jean in the province of Quebec to St-John in New Brunswick are bought by Iron Roads and are operated unsuccessfully by different operators and after the tragedy in Lac Megatic were 47 people died, the Montreal Maine & Atlantic Railway declare bankruptcy.
In May 2014, the Central Maine & Quebec Railway (CMQ) was formed. F or many years, the CMQ did a lot of publicity to try to correct the bad opinion that people had about the old MMA company making promises about fixing the lines that were in very bad conditions at the time.
In 2020, the Canadian Pacific buy back these lines from CMQ.
À la fin des années 1990, le CP décide d'abandonner certaines de leurs lignes non profitables. Les lignes entre St-Jean dans la province de Québec et St-John en Nouveau Brunswick sont achetées par Iron Roads et sont opérées par différents opérateurs sans succès. Après la tragédie du Lac Mégantic, le Montréal Maine & Atlantic Railway déclare faillite.
En mai 2014, le Central Maine & Quebec Railway (CMQ) est formé. Pendant plusieurs années, le CMQ tente de changer la mauvaise réputation que le nom de '' MMA '' possède avec la promesse de rénover les lignes qui sont en très mauvaises état alors.
En 2020, le Canadien Pacifique achète les lignes qu'elle avait cédées 20 ans auparavant.
