Presentation:

My name is Pierre Gagnon. I am a railfan (train's lover).

I must admit; trains are not my first love. My wonderful life partner is my first love and music (drums) is my 2nd first love. (I'm good ain't I?) When I am not playing music, I am watching trains.

I work as a control technician since, well, ever for the same company. I work on the road which allow me to see trains often.

I have started to build a small layout at home, in my studio, but time is short and I must admit that I spend more time watching trains than building my layout!

25 years ago, I used to work for Via Rail as an electrician, but, this is not where I fell in love with trains; I remember having an interest for trains, well, since I can remember!

Despite my great love for trains, I must admit, I lack much in knowledge in trains, but I do lots of research about trains and its realities.

I am in my fifties, and I dream about retirement so I could have more time for my music and my trains.

Meanwhile, with this little website, I am building myself a "scrapbook" from what I have learned about trains, hoping that this website could be a bit of reference for somebody else maybe.

Présentation:

Mon nom est Pierre Gagnon. Je suis un "railfan" (amoureux des trains).

Je dois admettre, mon premier amour ne sont pas les trains, mais ma partenaire de vie qui est extraordinaire. (pas fou le bonhomme!) Je suis musicien (drummer) et quand je ne joue pas de la musique (mon 2ième premier amour…) j'ai un intérêt pour les trains.

Je travaille comme technicien en contrôle pour la même compagnie depuis des lunes. J'ai la chance de travailler sur la route, ce qui me permet souvent de voir les trains.

J'ai commencé un petit réseau, chez moi, dans mon studio, mais, tristement, le temps manque et je passe passablement plus de temps à observer les trains que de bâtir mon réseau.

Il y a 25 ans, j'ai travaillé comme électricien chez Via Rail, mais, ce n'est pas là que j'ai eu mon intérêt pour les trains, cet intérêt je l'ai depuis que je peux me souvenir.

Malgré mon grand intérêt pour les trains, je manque de connaissance. Je fais beaucoup de recherche pour mieux comprendre les réalités ferroviaires.

Je suis dans la cinquantaine et je rêve à ma retraite pour me consacrer plus à la musique et aux trains.

En attendant, je veux, avec ce site, me faire un " scrapbook " de ce que j'ai appris dans mes recherches, espérant, peut-être, être une petite source d'information sur les trains, malgré le peu que je connais.
